3D Relighting

The three main constituents of portrait photography are camera, subject and lighting. Computational imaging traditionally addresses the first two. It was time to also look at the first and most challenging one. Based on a ToF sensor, my team has introduced the first real-time portrait re-illumination technology based on real-time 3D meshing. This technology was featured in LG flagship phones and you are now aware of similar techniques in iPhones and iPads.
